First White House Environmental Justice Summit

Yesterday I tuned in for an Environmental Justice summit hosted by White House Council on Environmental Quality’s new Office of Environmental Justice. It was a big deal. The speakers covered the history of the EJ movement and the remarkable shift that the Biden-Harris administration has made.

They spoke to that the administration not only sees frontline communities and acknowledges historical harms, but has acted in setting new policies (numerous Executive Orders) to dedicate funding to the communities harmed.

A new environmentaljustice.gov website has been launched. Check it out. I was inspired, I feel hope, and motivated to that this movement is gaining momentum and I’m so pleased to be a part of it with the communities I work with now and in the future. Join me as we mobilize from within the community.
