Clean Energy to Communities’ In Depth Partnership

The Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) plans to release a solicitation to support 2-4 more communities to develop decarbonization strategies.

Awarded community teams will receive up to $500,000 directly for community participation and collaboration; and additionally be allotted time and resources (up to $3.5M) from the technical experts at national laboratories to support community specific planning for renewable energy, energy efficiency, or transportation electrification projects, according to the community priorities. Applicant community teams must include a Community Based Organization (CBO), local government, and an electric utility.
